Important Reminders for a Smooth Start to Term 4
As we enter Term 4, here are some key reminders for parents to ensure a positive and smooth term for all students:
Arriving at School on Time:
It is vital that students arrive at school on time every day. Punctuality helps set the tone for the day and ensures that students are prepared and ready to learn. Please remind your child to be on campus promptly each morning.
NCEA External Exams:
NCEA external exams are fast approaching. Regular attendance in the lead-up to these exams is essential for students to review and consolidate their learning. Check the school website for the exam timetable and important updates.
Attendance Matters:
We cannot stress enough the importance of attendance throughout the term. Whether your child is sitting external exams or continuing with classes, being present every day maximises their learning opportunities and ensures they meet their academic goals.
School Website and Parent Portal:
Please regularly visit the school website for updates and key dates. For details on your child’s learning progress and outcomes, you can log into the parental portal where all information on their academic achievements is available.
Signing In and Out of School:
If your child needs to leave school during the day for any reason, such as a medical appointment, please remember to sign them in and out of school through the office. Additionally, if your child has a medical appointment, a doctor's certificate must be returned to the school the following day.
School Uniform:
A reminder that all students are expected to wear the correct school uniform, including proper footwear. We have seen an increase in non-compliant footwear such as Ugg boots, Crocs, and slippers, which are not acceptable as part of the uniform. Students must wear regulation school shoes. Please also ensure that non-uniform items and sports uniforms are not worn during regular class time. Any non-compliant items will be confiscated.
Cell Phones:
Another reminder that cell phones are to remain in students' bags from the moment they walk through the school gates until 3.30 pm. Parents, please do not call or message your child during class time. If you need to contact them, please call the school office, and we will get the message to them.
Vaping:
We continue to address issues around vaping. Please check your child’s bag or pockets regularly to ensure they are not bringing vaping devices to school. If a student is caught with a vaping device, they will face the appropriate consequences.
School Bus Routes:
There has been a change to the RH4 bus route. Please check here for updated bus route times and any other changes to transportation schedules.
We appreciate the ongoing support from both parents and students in ensuring a successful Term 4. By working together, we can help students stay on track with their learning and make the most of their opportunities. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school office. Let’s finish the year on a positive note!
