We are seeking an experienced empathetic and compassionate Special Education Needs Co-ordinator to join our Learning Support Department.
Tūturu | Full Practising Certificate
Suitable for Primary or Secondary trained.
This permanent full-time role will include working alongside our Head of Learner Support to oversee:
- Key resourcing and school support issues as they apply to students with identified special education needs e.g. ORS funding applications and administration, co-ordination of RTLBs, Teacher aides and Special Assessment Conditions.
- Support kaiako/teachers in school to lift their capability to better meet the needs of learners and build inclusive learning environments.
- Support and build strong relationships with parents, whānau and the community.
- Co-ordinate the transition process from the Primary sector to the Secondary sector
- Manage the coordination and implementation of Individual Education Plans and appropriate assessment tasks associated with this
- Work with each school’s leadership team to ensure the needs of all students are met and they receive the appropriate support to enhance their learning and progress.
- Teaching and Learning in a classroom environment -some classes may be timetabled
- Supporting the development of intervention programmes as needed
- Whakamana Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and ensure te reo me ōna Tikanga are upheld.
