HoF Humanities (4MU)

We seek a dynamic, passionate and enthusiastic leader of Humanities to join our middle leadership curriculum team.

Applicants should have a current New Zealand teacher registration and a working knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum. The successful candidate will have:

  • a genuine passion for teaching and a clear understanding of NCEA
  • experience in differentiated teaching at the junior and senior levels
  • ability to be a team player who will work collaboratively to raise student achievement
  • knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensure te reo me ōna Tikanga are upheld
  • relational practices to tautoko positive relationships within our kura

A commitment to mana ōrite mō te mātauranga māori, and cultural responsiveness is also essential.

The Humanities Head of Faculty is responsible for leadership of Heads of Department and Teachers in Charge of all Humanities courses. The growth and development of staff, and co-curricular opportunities with a Humanities focus is a key component of the role. The Humanities Head of Faculty has responsibility for oversight of student achievement across a diverse range curriculum including: Accounting, Ancient History, Business Studies, Classical Studies, Commerce, Economics, Financial Literacy, Geography, History, Social Studies, Sustainability, Tourism.
