Assistant HOD English (2MU)
Start date: January 2025
We seek an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Head of Department to join our English faculty. Applicants should have a current New Zealand teacher registration and a working knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum. The successful candidate will have:
- provide professional leadership, with the skills to motivate and enhance the performance of kaiako.
- a genuine passion for teaching and a clear understanding of NCEA
- experience in differentiated teaching at the junior and senior levels
- proven classroom management skills and ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all ākonga.
- ability to be a team player who will work collaboratively to raise student achievement
- will whakamana the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensure te reo me ōna Tikanga is upheld
- relational practices to tautoko positive relationships within our kura
A commitment to mana ōrite mō te mātauranga māori, and cultural responsiveness is also essential.
