Celebrating Student Craftsmanship: Year 11 Students Create Kākahu for Prize Giving
At Rosehill College, our students continue to amaze us with their creativity and dedication. This year, four talented Year 11 students took on the incredible challenge of creating kākahu (traditional Māori cloaks) to be presented at both our Junior and Senior Prize Giving ceremonies. These beautifully crafted kākahu are not just works of art – they are a tribute to Māori culture, symbolising mana (prestige), achievement, and the spirit of hard work.
Meet the Artists Behind the Kākahu

For the Senior Prize Giving, these students crafted a kākahu that honours wisdom, growth, and leadership, symbolising the transition from school to new opportunities ahead. Their attention to detail and respect for cultural tradition make this piece truly special.
