Kia ora koutou,

Principals across Auckland have met with the Ministry of Education and we have been given updates and situation analysis, as well as emergency management operations across the motu. It is clear that we are facing a severe and widespread event, with heavy rain warnings, associated flooding, high winds and power outages.

The Board has made the decision to close the school on Monday 13th February 2023 and Tuesday 14th February 2023. This is not ideal for anyone and again our students’ learning has been interrupted by unforeseen circumstances. Nevertheless, the Health and Safety of your child/ren is our priority.

We are aware that many students do not have access to all of their Google Classrooms yet and also that some families may lose power and/or internet connection. Where possible, we encourage students to review any material on Classroom that they can access. Being unable to access Classroom doesn’t mean that students are unable to learn. They could read a book, practise their number skills, research and review the current weather patterns and/or cook dinner for the family.

Please continue to check on weather and emergency services, via your local Civil Defence updates. Below are some links for help and support.

Stay Safe, Kia Kaha
