You will be aware that we are still experiencing high levels of winter illness in our community. This impacts on our teaching team as well as our students. During pressure points in Term 2, we avoided school closures and the return to full-time online learning by rostering home our junior year levels. This strategy increased the number of available staff to cover classes.

This term we won’t be rostering year levels home, but using Tuesday as an independent learning day across the school. This is a great opportunity for students to consolidate their learning, complete work set on Google Classroom and revise.

Tuesday was selected because of two reasons

  1. Late start already established
  2. Staff being able to communicate with students of what needs to be completed on Monday

If your child is in Year 9 and or Year 10 and is unable to be at home, we will have available a space for students to work independently in. School canteen will not be available on this day, and they will be expected to be in school uniform. Buses will not run on independent learning days. Please contact the school if your child will be attending school on Tuesday’s.

Some subjects will have workshops running, students and parents will be notified.

PRACTICE EXAMS: 15th September 2022 – 23rd September 2022

A notice for all seniors:
Not all senior students will be given study leave during this time. Study leave is a privilege. Students will be identified on who will need to return to school to complete their literacy or numeracy and or other class tasks/work that is overdue. Students returning will also be given an opportunity to study for their practice exams at school.

Please log into the Parent Portal and review your child’s achievement to date. If you do not have your logon details, please contact the Student Office at studentoffice@rosehillcollege.school.nz. They will clearly be able to explain to you their assessment information and what needs to be completed. Subject teachers will also be communicating to all students what assessments and internal work they will be required to complete for your child to be granted study leave.
