The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award challenges students to dream big and discover their potential. Leaving their comfort zones through learning new skills, being physically active, taking part in adventures, giving service to the community and for the Gold participants completing a Residential Project with people they don’t know. The 3-4 year journey to complete the Gold Award builds self-confidence and greater resilience. Students need to be self-motivated, focused, hardworking and determined through, difficult and sometimes very challenging times. The life skills learned with Duke of Edinburgh will set them apart and set them up for success in today’s world.
